Overview

We all need to get away from the rat race sometimes! After a spectacular journey to Villa Margarita, past castles and wealthy estates, you breathe in the powerful aromas of Provence and find serenity in the midst of the pine forest –with only the gentle rhythm of the cicadas to accompany you. The children instantly take off to explore the forest before a fun-filled day around the welcoming pool.

If you can pull yourself away from the stunning views of Mt Durance, a 5 minute drive will take you to the quaint village of Lourmarin where you can potter around the chic boutiques and sample local produce off the traditional market.

Interior

The spacious, romantic bedrooms are perfect for long lie-ins. Freshly poured coffee in hand, head out to your personal terrace for a slow start to the morning before preparing in the clean, roomy bathrooms. As the afternoon comes to an end, we enjoy singing around the piano with a glass of red –whilst keeping an eye on the kids in the pool – and our celebratory meal is taken in the light dining room.

Exterior

After a morning of sunning yourself by the pool at Villa Margarita you head up to the terrace to cool down with a chilled glass of rosé on the comfy outdoor seating before slipping over to the terrace table for a lunch of charcuterie, cheese, olives and fresh baguette –straight off the market. An adventurous afternoon is spent hiking in the forests, biking along the river, horse riding in the fields or golfing in the Luberon valley. Otherwise, you head for the many historical sites, chateaux’s and restaurants; and on return to your villa…pure peace.
