Description
Overview
Perched in officially one of the most beautiful villages of France, Villa Avelans is a characterful stone house with all the modern conveniences you need.
Step out onto the cobbled lanes of Roque-sur-Cèze. An itsy-bitsy quaint old village clinging to the rocks; wander up to the medieval castle, visit the Romanesque chapel, and engage in a game of pétanque with the locals or head down to the Sautadet Cascades for a refreshing dip in the enchanting waterfalls of the River Cèze.
Interior
Villa Avelans truely is a home from home. Pour yourself a glass of rosé from the large wine fridge as you cook local produce from the market in your sleek, fully functioning kitchen while chatting about your day’s adventures with loved one’s around the table and on to the sitting room.
In winter, the house enjoys the warmth of the wood-burning stove and central heating. In summer, air con cools the whole house. The plush bedrooms offer guests high quality linens and ample storage space whereas the bathrooms bring style and cleanliness. Even with all its contemporary furniture and fittings, the ancient stone walls of Villa Avelans are still exposed reminding us of days gone by.
Exterior
The blend of old and new continues out to the inviting courtyard…
Mornings are spent in the sheltered pool till the whiff of sausages from the barbeque lures you to the dining table under the central olive tree. Now you are fuelled and ready to explore the area…
The region is filled with cascades, gorges and Roman aqueducts. Don walking shoes, hire a bike or take the car to visit the river, archeological sites and wine estates and don’t miss the opportunity to go to dine in a gastronomic restaurant in the area!
