Following a creativity inspiring day out in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence or on a heart-racing hike in the countryside, return to the tranquility of this beautifully restored farmhouse for some much needed R and R.

Interior

You take refuge from the blazing sun on the comfy sofa as the windows of Mas Saint Laurent reveal the stunning hills set against the pure blue sky. In the typically Provençal kitchen the whiff of Ratatouille makes its way to the grand table in the dining room and flashes of colour in the elegant furniture stand out against the long-standing wooden beams throughout the house.

The sophisticated bedrooms are perfect for well-deserved lie-ins and breakfast in bed before you prepare in the rain-fall shower for the adventures that await you on the doorstep.

Exterior

Spend long hot summer afternoons splashing in the pool and topping up your tan on the lounger. Lunch will be taken on the patio in the shelter of cascading vines and dinner will be served at the Romanesque stone table and benches. A wander through the grounds and you will familiarise yourself with the native flora and, as suggested by my daughter, ‘this garden would be great for an Easter egg hunt!’ Tomorrow, take the family to a traditional, open-air market or on a bike ride in the Alpilles National Park, polishing the day off in a fancy restaurant.
