Mas de Soleillan, Uzès, Gard. Sleeps 11
Description
Overview
Traditional 18th century farmhouse marries artistic Provençal sophistication to create this exquisite country villa in the prettiest part of the Gard region. Overlooking 6 hectares of private Côte de Rhône vineyards, Mas de Soleillan has been beautifully restored to cater for all your holiday-making needs. Sitting on the edge of the tiny, remote village of Mégier, just 2 miles from the shops and 30 minutes from Uzès, Mas Soleillan is perfect for a secluded retreat to the countryside in what is normally one of the most popular parts of the region.
Interior
Mas de Soleillan enjoys accents of cream and beige with stylish flair while exposed stone walls and vaulted ceilings bring old-world charm. The children escape the heat of the day on the luxurious sofa with a good book in the cave-like reading nook. Dinner is being prepared in the equipped kitchen where laughter flows through to rosé-sipping friends at the dining table and onto the vaulted living room.
6 rustic and modern bedrooms await 11 guests, and in Provençal style, they share 2 bathrooms.
Exterior
From the manicured garden and poolside the fabulous stone house stands out against the pure blue sky. Afternoon sun-worshippers enjoy lush green views from the chaise-longues retreating from time to time to the terrace for refreshments. Then a quick game of table tennis is in order to reconnect with loved ones before the table is set on the patio for a memorable Provençal meal.
But the great outdoors will pull you away from Mas de Soleillan to hikes in the Eure valley, bike rides through picturesque villages and wine tasting in the cellars of the Rhône valley.
