L’Oliveraie, Le Barroux, Ventoux. Sleeps 8
Driving along the winding roads of this dramatic Provençal countryside you are immediately drawn to the imposing medieval castle of Le Barroux. L’Oliveraie is settled in a sublimely secluded, almost personal, valley just below the ancient village.
Positioned in the foot hills of the ‘Giant of Provence’ – Mont Ventoux, L’Oliveraie is in the perfect spot for hiking in the hills, following the Tour de France cycle route and zip lining through the woods!
Upstairs, the cosy corners are tastefully decorated and the classy bedrooms invite long lie-ins and breakfast in bed. The villa offers a bathroom for all –allowing for that much needed personal time.
When it’s time to come together the spacious, open plan living areas downstairs of L’Oliveraie are great for family life. The kitchen has been finished in stone and terracotta giving it a real Provençal feel for you to try out an authentic meal.
At L’Oliveraie, children pass the day jumping in and out of the pool. When thirsty, they can easily access chilled drinks from the fridge in the pool house. Once their fingers and toes have turned into shrivelled prunes they relish in a game of darts and table tennis as you relax in the hammock with a good book.
Later, you join together for a game of pétanque (French bowls) with Pastis in hand whilst the barbeque releases mouth-watering aromas from the meat cuts you picked up earlier in the local butcher’s.
