Overview

Here is a villa which is perfectly placed in one of the most stunning corners of Provence. Set in the village of Bédoin at the foot of the Giant of Provence –Mont Ventoux. Les Oliviers has the whole shebang! As the English owners reside here in spring and autumn, the house is fully furnished with all the mod-cons; all you need is your bike if you wish the follow the Tour de France up the mountain!

Convenience, comfort and safety make Les Oliviers ideal for families. Take the kids for exploratory hikes around Mont Serein, exhilarating canyoning in the Nesque gorge and discovery bike rides around the perched Provençal villages.

Interior

Feel perfectly at ease at Les Oliviers with its homely comforts. Spend an extra hour in the soft beds, (you have the luxury of Air-con and a duvet) then choose a book from the wide range of English novels. Perhaps the kids would like to choose a board game to take out to the patio or select their favourite DVD for after dinner so you get that all important quiet-time.

The kitchen is filled with all the appliances you need for trying out some Provençal recipes of your own. Basket in hand, head to the local market to fill it with sun-ripened vegetables, olives, cheese and charcuterie.

Exterior

The ship-shape, spick-and-span garden is safe for little feet and is fenced off from the pool and drive. The children will love the long pool which reaches 27° in the summer; and those with sensitive skin, or in need of a chilled beverage, can take refuge on the poolside roofed patio. In the evening, enjoy recollecting the day’s activities on the spacious veranda with views over the illuminated pool and beyond.

-Linen and towels are provided (except for pool towels). There’s a washing machine in the utility room but no dryer, as things dry on the line quickly in Provence)

-The pool is completely fenced in for the protection of children. The beautiful 10m x 4m heated swimming pool soaks up the suns rays to ensure a water temperature of approximately 27 degrees centrigrade at all times during the summer season -complies with safety regulations

-Compulsory extra charge – 100€ payable upon arrival for the end-of-stay clean.

Bédoin Checklist:

-The open-air Provençal market in Bédoin takes place every Monday morning

-Hike, Bike and zip-line on the Mont Ventoux-famous for featuring often in the Tour de France. Our favorite hike is the Randonnée de Bédoin. Pick from the 5 km hike or the 9 km hike for amazing views of the village of Bédoin, the XVIII Saint Pierre church and the summit of Mont Ventoux at 21 km.

-Visit the Le Barroux Castle

-Try Restaurant Lily et Paul in the village of Bédoin.

-Kids love the Llama farm

-Go canyoning in the Gorges de Nesque

-Admire the Demoiselles Coiffées -Ocre fairy chimneys.

-Wander the streets, Roman ruins and the best Tuesday market in the region in the vibrant town of Vaison-la-Romaine.

-Shop on the Provençal Tuesday morning market in Caromb Or Vaison-la Romaine.

-The Medieval Festival in Le Barroux

-Les Dentelles de Montmirail (for hiking and rock climbing) couple it with a visit to a wine celler for a expert tasting (ask for Mathieu)

-Carpentras Friday morning market (stock up on black truffles!)
