Overview

Le Petit Merindol is a beautiful property set in rose and lavender filled grounds just 200 metres from the banks of the River Rhône. Wide open spaces and several seating and relaxing areas make this a wonderful rental for large groups looking for serenity, sun and sophistication. Le Petit Merindol is a luxurious choice in the heart of the ancient Papal territory and Provençal Roman history.

A five minutes’ drive takes you to the ‘capital of Provence’, Avignon, where music and theatre festivals are in full swing during the summer months and anytime is right for admiring the magnificent architecture, art galleries and treating yourselves to a gastronomic meal.

Le Petit Merindol is far from ‘little’ offering guests 6 regal 17^th-18^th century style ensuite bedrooms. Take your pick from the ground floor ensuite with private terrace and direct access to the pool, the golden room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard and park and featuring a walk in shower and Jacuzzi bathtub or one of the other equally timeless rooms with a view.

Meals are prepared in the ancient chapel but take advantage of the chef to allow yourselves more spare time during this prestigious trip. Feast in the coolness of the vaulted dining room when the Provençal sun is at its highest and digest in the calm of the reading room with views of the lavender garden.

Exterior

Push open the French windows of the light and airy living room a step out onto the courtyard of Le Petit Merindol. Bottles of chilled rosé on the ‘aperitif’ tables await those returning from the pool or game of table tennis and the feasting will commence again soon, this time on the large table under the shelter  -where ceiling fans bring freshness and outdoor speakers bring ambiance.

For those in search of history, art and natural exploration, you are in a central position for discovering hikes in the Alpilles, Ventoux and the Luberon Valleys, art in Avignon and St-Rémy -de-Provence and Roman structures in Orange, Vaison la Romaine and the Site of Glanum.
