Overview

Feel the heat of the Provençal sun on your face as you breathe in scents of lavender and herbs at La Maison des Fragrances. For years, lavender was dried in the great courtyard for the owner’s aromatherapy business –the first in France! Post WWII, this traditional farmstead was used to store flower seeds and sheep. Now, it has been lovingly restored within its 20 acres of olive and pine groves and towering cypress trees.

La Maison des Fragrances is a short hop from the famous town of Saint Rémy-de-Provence where you can visit the many art museums, galleries and dealers–inspired by Van Gogh’s time here. Admire the Roman ruins of Glanum and indulge in some fine dining in one of St Rémy’s gastronomic restaurants.

Interior

La Maison des Fragrances is tastefully decorated with splashes of bright colours. Modern furnishings with vintage touches create a comfortable environment with a tale to tell for sautéing Mediterranean vegetables in the rustic kitchen, dining indoors under the timber beams and cosy film nights in the living room.

When the day is done, head to the equally stylish ensuite bedrooms where the colours coordinate, the tiles shine and the fittings are of utmost quality. The Multiple room with vaulted ceiling continues to tell tales of past times when this was once the chapel.

Exterior

Due to the mature Provençal foliage at La Maison des Fragrances you can lounge on comfortable sofas in the pool house as you joke with friends basking in the sun in total privacy. You will not want to leave the lush exterior; cold beverages and steaks, straight off the plancha, can be prepared and devoured in the pool house.

Venture further afield and discover hiking and biking trails through the Alpilles National Park. This stunning slice of Provence is dotted with stunning perched villages begging you to wander the streets and market stalls before settling down, on a sun-dappled terrace, to enjoy a glass of the famous rosé wine of the region.

-15m x 5m salt water heated pool –complies with safety regulations. The rigid cover helps keep the heat in and the bugs out over night

-9hrs of Housekeeping/week and a weekly linen change. There is also a laundry room
