Description
Overview
Named after the grape variety that is most prominent in Gigondas wine, La Grenache is not only nestled above its vineyards but is also in walking distance of this beautiful village. The villa is the highest in the village with atypical views of the medieval ramparts, village and valley below.
Pop down to pick up a few groceries and crawl back up after an afternoon of wine tasting in the many wine cellars that line the cobbled streets. With the Dentelles de Montmirail just behind you, hikes in the shade of oak and pine trees await you if you can tear yourself away from this magnificent villa and pool.
Interior
With refined, classy and tasteful decor and white washed ceiling beams, chandeliers and the odd antique, La Grenache is an exquisite villa with high-end appliances. 4 modern and sleek bedrooms and bathrooms welcome you for long lie-ins and washing the day’s activities away.
Set into the hill with stone walls and pierre de Bourgogne stone floors, the house keeps temperatures fresh but A/C is available in all bedrooms during the summer months; heating and an open fire will warm you in cooler months.
Exterior
Spend hours soaking up the sun and taking in the views from the pool side at La Grenache before retreating to the terrace for pre-dinner drinks and a bowl of local olives. A bottle of Gigondas is being cracked open in the elegant dining room and the whiff of Mediterranean vegetables stewing in the kitchen rounds off an authentic Provençal day in the countryside.
Tomorrow will be spent visiting the Roman ruins in Vaison-la Romaine and partaking in adrenaline-fueled activities on Mont Ventoux.
