La Fontaine de Saumane is sophistication at its finest. It’s distinguished, it’s atmospheric, it will absolutely astound your guests with its timeless grace. Reminiscent of a French Château, you take a turn in the gardens and plunge into the exquisite infinity pool with breath-taking views over the Provençal lands.
But La Fontaine de Saumane it’s not just a wedding venue…Large groups can live the good life too, children can explore the landscaped gardens and 40 acres of parklands to discover secret hideouts and tree houses. Couples can tone up on the jogging trail and friends can break a sweat on the flood-lit tennis court.
Interior
Take a trip back to antiquity in this luxuriously romantic estate. The 7 en-suite bedrooms and apartment in the main house, and a further 2 bedrooms in the guest house, are decorated with elegance and authenticity, radiating royalty and history. The renaissance style bedrooms with stand-alone bathtubs blend chic with the refined to prepare you for your big day.
The dining area of La Fontaine de Saumane exudes elegance and antique with exposed wooden beams, a dining table fit for a queen, tapestries and a piano for romantic serenades. There is not one straight line in the vaulted kitchen, the sink is circular and the original bread oven of this 16th century prestige priory takes us out of the contemporary and back into medieval times.
Exterior
Cypress trees line the grand private avenue as you approach La Fontaine de Saumane. Step out of your vehicle in the turning circle and admire howEnglish designer and architect Giles Vincent has worked around the original stones and wood of the ruined castle, to bring it into the 21st century. The walled gardens are simply majestic; complete with renaissance fountains, untainted ponds, sweeping stairs, immaculate lawns and far-reaching views.
A short drive takes you to the romantic town of L’Isle-sur-la Sorgue -the Venice of Provence. With its canals and gondola-like boats, chic cafés and restaurants on the water’s edge you can experience Provence with a twist. Leisurely walks and bike rides can be taken to discover the area, rock climbing and canoeing for the more adventurous –but only if you can wrench yourself away from the magnetic suduction of La Fontaine de Saumane.
